Als Kahn- oder Kappenspitze (auch Schiffchen- Boot- oder Kapuzenspitze) bezeichnet man die kurze, dreidimensionale, an einen Schiffsbug oder an eine Kapuze erinnernde Spitze, die für linealische, parallelrandige Blattspreiten typisch ist. Wenn man die dreidimensionale Blattspitze glattstreicht, reisst sie auf und es entsteht eine Doppelspitze. Kahnspitzen findet man bei allen Arten mit linealischen Blattspreiten, z. B. bei vielen - aber nicht allen - Poa-Arten, bei Sesleria caerulea und Helictotrichon pubescens.

Une pointe en capuchon est une extrémité courte et en trois dimensions, qui forme une sorte de petite cuvette à l'extrémité du limbe. Ce type d'extrémité peut aussi faire penser à la proue d'un navire. On retrouve typiquement cette pointe tridimensionelle au bout des feuilles linéaires (ou à bords parallèles). Lorsque que l'on sépare l'extrémité avec les doigts pour en faire une feuille plane, on obtient une extrémité avec une double pointe. Cette structure se retrouve chez toutes les espèces possédant des feuilles linéaires, par exemple chez de nombreuses espèces du genre Poa, ainsi que chez Sesleria caerulea et Helictotrichon pubescens.

L’apice a cappuccio si riferisce a foglie che presentano un apice che nelle tre dimensioni ricorda un cappuccio, esso è spesso ricorrente nelle foglie lineari a margine parallelo. Quale verifica, se la foglia viene appianata con le dita l’apice si rompe in due parti. L’apice a cappuccio caratterizza tutte le foglie lineari con margine parallelo, come in alcune specie del genere Poa, in Sesleria caerulea e Helicotrichon pubescens.

Hooded or boat-shaped tip refers to the short, three-dimensional tip, reminiscent of a ship's bow or a hood, which is typical for linear, parallel-edged, abruptly pointed leaf blades. If the three-dimensional tip is smoothed out, it splits to a double peak. Hooded tips are found in all types of linear leaf blades, e.g. in many - but not all - Poa species as well as in Sesleria caerulea and Helictotrichon pubescens.
