Die Zahl entspricht dem Prozentanteil der Messtischblätter 1 : 25'000 in Deutschland, in denen die entsprechende Art aktuell vorkommt (100% = 3000 Messtischblätter). Die Zahl wurde aufgrund der Angaben auf der Webseite floraweb.de berechnet (Datenstand 2013). Die Grundlage für die Angaben auf der Webseite bildet das laufende Kartierungs- und Datenbankprojekt am Bundesamt für Naturschutz, dessen Ergebmisse 2014 auch in gedruckter Form veröffentlicht wurden:

Le nombre indiquant l'abondance d'une espèce donnée sur le territoire allemand correspond au pourcentage du nombre de cartes au 1: 25'000 dans lesquelles l'espèce a été retrouvée par rapport au nombre totale de cartes (100% = espèce présente pour l’ensembledes 3000 cartes). Ces pourcentages ont été calculés sur la base des informations disponibles sur le site Web floraweb.de (données de 2013). Les informations présentes sur le site Web proviennent d’un projet de l’Office fédéral pour la conservation de la nature (en allemand Bundesamt für Naturschutz, BfN) visant à mettre à disposition les cartes de répartition et la base de données des espèces présentes en Allemagne.. En 2014, les résultats du projet ont été publiés sous forme imprimée:
